Agosto Dourado terá programação especial na Maternidade Cândido Mariano
Após a Semana Mundial de Aleitamento Materno (SMAM), realizada de 1 a 7 de agosto com o tema “Empoderar Mães e Pais, Favorecer a Amamentação”, o país continua as celebrações de 2019 em prol da amamentação. A Maternidade Cândido Mariano participa do Agosto Dourado, comemoração oficializada no Brasil com um decreto do Senado, com ações voltadas para a causa durante todo do mês.
De acordo com a nutricionista Vanessa Torres, uma das profissionais responsáveis pelo Banco de Leite Humano (BLH) da Maternidade Cândido Mariano, a principal função da campanha é lembrar mães e pais da importância do líquido no desenvolvimento dos bebês. “É um alimento completo e a recomendação do Ministério da Saúde (MS) é que nos primeiros seis meses de vida o bebê se alimente exclusivamente com o leite da materno”, explica.
Segundo Vanessa, os benefícios são inúmeros. “Vão desde a proteção a doenças como diarreias, resfriados, infeções, alergias, até a produção de anticorpos no recém-nascido”. “Vale lembrar que dos seis meses até os dois anos de idade o aleitamento materno deve acontecer de forma complementar, porém, continua sendo o principal alimento”, ressalta a nutricionista.
Com tantos benefícios, o aleitamento materno será promovido pela Maternidade Cândido Mariano durante o Agosto Dourado com várias atividades abertas às mães e profissionais da saúde. Entre as ações programadas estão rodas de conversa, capacitações para enfermeiros e técnicos de enfermagem do hospital e de toda a cidade, inauguração do novo espaço do BLH e o tradicional mamaço.
